Whoops! I’ve been a tad distracted by life lately. Between finalizing my schedule for the upcoming fall semester (my very busy schedule of ONE class!) and trying to enjoy the last few weeks of summer, I’ve found myself lacking creativity to write. Granted, writing has never come naturally for me, so at least I’m trying!
As the days grow shorter, I find myself missing out on sunshine and garden time. My garden has been providing a nice harvest (except now my zucchinis have powdery mildew and have stopped producing). I’m mostly enjoying the abundance of herbs and often end up snacking on a few leaves of Thai basil, chives, and dill while checking on everything. My lavender is blooming big time so I’ve been harvesting little bunches and hanging them to dry. Not sure how I will make use of the dried lavender yet, but it smells lovely!
I have had a rough few months. The pandemic left me missing out on the last of my senior year of undergrad, I didn’t get to walk at graduation, work has become a major stressor, I’ve been applying to dietetic internships and got accepted into a great program, only to find out they decided to postpone for a year because of COVID (which doesn’t work for me) and so on. BUT! I’ve also made a ton of progress. Sometimes I focus so much on the set-backs that I forget about the progress. I’m 2 semesters away from having my masters in nutrition. I also did something I’ve been really wanting to do for a long time: I signed up for a 200 hour yoga teacher training! I don’t know that I intend to teach (for money at least) anytime soon, but I’m enjoying the deeper dive into yoga. I’ve been practicing yoga since grade school and I always wanted to learn more, and this opportunity came at the perfect time. It’s online so I can work at my own pace (and it doesn’t interfere with school) and it’s nice to have something to focus on (being at work is sucking the life out of me lately)… So stay tuned. I’m working on getting my shit together while I’m being pulled in every direction. I have some great content to share in the near future.
