My garden

I began gardening several years ago, where I converted an old kiddie pool into a pretty successful garden. Every year since, I have continued to learn more about gardening. Thankfully, now I have access to decent sized flower beds where I plant every summer. This year, I have expanded into another bed and increased the variety of plants and herbs.

Here is a list of what’s growing and what I plan to add once the weather warms up:

  • 2 heirloom tomatoes
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 3 banana peppers
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 2 eggplant
  • 4 zucchini
  • a whole lot of peas (English & Sugar Snap)
  • 3 cauliflower
  • 3 broccoli
  • carrots
  • onions
  • garlic
  • parsley
  • mint
  • chives
  • rosemary
  • lemon balm
  • lemongrass
  • lavender
  • arugula
  • mustard
  • basil (tulsi, spicy globe, lemon, Thai, sweet)
  • thyme
  • borage
  • corn
  • dill
  • 4 cantaloupe
  • 4 watermelon
  • 1 elderberry (black lace variety)

At some point, Grandma planted lemon balm on the property and now it’s growing everywhere! Also, I’ve allowed clover to take over as ground cover and I love it!!
